Really rocking

What I’ve done musically (so far)

Any rocker or metalhead knows that listening to the music is simply not enough. You have to live it and create it to really be part of the community.

I have participated in six bands, which is four more than what it should be, because everybody would like to make it from the first moment on, which is, of course, impossible. One to learn, and one to succeed should suffice. But it’s easier said than done. So many factors play a role in a band «making it». It’s a long way to the top, if you wanna rock & roll, as AC/DC used to sing. Musicians’ egos are the main reason so many talented bands remain in the shadows of nothingness.

Steel Cranium was my first band, back in 1993. Then came LDB one year later. The last epoch of Bloodsoaked, a well-established doom band, was the next one. Then I helped create a Technical Death Metal band named nowadays Arkhé, whose original name used to be Non Serviam; the year was 1996. In 2001-2002, I played the congas with a legendary Stoner band in Mexico named El Diablo.

The real fun came later, in 2008, when I joined Dirty Woman. That was the only band that actually got paid to play (twice). We played all over Mexico and participated in several festivals where the headliners were bands of such heights as Judas Priest, Kiss, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Megadeth, Rob Zombie, Overkill, Testament, Epica, and hundreds more. Dirty Woman had two epochs with me as the frontman, from 2008-2012 and from 2014-2016. Before I joined the band, and since I left it, they have never played live. That should suffice to understand what went on in that group: their members would rather kill the band than let go of their power trips. How many other bands can say the same? Thousands!
